Congratulations to our Director, Dr. Christopher Shelton, associate professor of clinical psychology, on receiving Penn State Behrend’s Council of Fellows Excellence in Research Award as part of the college’s 2025–26 Council of Fellows awards.
Reflecting on the recognition, Dr. Shelton said the research he has enjoyed most “has usually been the kind that doesn’t stay neatly inside one discipline or stop at a publication. It starts with an idea, but then comes the harder part: figuring out how to make it work, bringing the right people together, and turning it into something that can actually be used.”
Much of that work has happened here at VAR Lab, alongside our students, colleagues, and external collaborators. “I’m very grateful for the recognition and for everyone who has had a hand in the work behind it,” he said.
